LITE are currently on a nationwide Japan tour with Brother’s Sister’s Daughter, a new improv unit put together by Mike Watt and Kramer (Bongwater, Ween, Butthole Surfers, Shimmy Disc et al) with drum duties being split between Samm Bennett and Yuko Araki (Migu, Cornelius).
The first date on Friday saw them joined by jazz drumming legend Han Bennink while they will also share the stage with Seiichi Yamamoto (Boredoms, ROVO) in Osaka. Other nights feature Z and 54-71.
Together, LITE and BSD will play a Funanori song from “A Tiny Twofer” each night!
Meanwhile, LITE have just put the finishing touches to their second full-length album, recorded with Toe’s Takaaki Mino as engineer. More news soon.

Z debuted new material for the next album at a show with LITE last week in Tokyo.

Lots more press reviews added for “Filmlets” and “Mikabe”. The Z track “Mugen” is streaming at Paper Thin Walls. The band will play their first gig of 2007 after a long break in Tokyo on May 6th. The Arm will play The King Edward Inn in Birmingham (formerly Chapter Eleven) on March 31st with Mills & Boon and have been added to the bill for the Wheaton Aston Music Festival on May 19th.

The Arm will join the amazing Giveamanakick and Formation Flight for a one-off show at Birmingham’s Flapper and Firkin on November 1st. More details on schedule page. Other gigs include The Arm’s first outside the UK when they play Dublin’s legendary Ballroom of Romance on November 24th. Irish magazine Mongrel recently described The Arm’s sonic blueprint thus: “…distort the ballix out of the guitars and add loads of violent electronomological noise…”.
